1. Export - How To
To start an export, open a diagram in Enterprise Architect that contains the element which is to be the root element of your FMEA structure tree.
In the diagram below you can see the system hierarchy. Use the element Sensor Chain as the start element.
Open the context menu on the diagram on the start element and choose Extensions → LieberLieber Connector APIS IQ-Software → Start FMEA-Export
Once the model has been analysed the export dialog will be shown.
- Set the file export path
- Choose an export language for APIS IQ
- Select the elements you want to export
- Click Start Export …
It will export the structural elements as an FMEA structure tree, convert functional elements to FMEA functions and embed the selected diagrams as SVG graphics for later use in APIS IQ.
2. Export options
Using the hamburger menu you can select some export options. You will also find some selection tools:

2.2. Options
Export Functions as Characteristics | Activating this option causes functions to not be exported to the FMEA as function elements; rather, that they are exported as Characteristics. |
---|---|
Show diagrams | Activating this option causes the diagrams to be shown in the tree. If the option is switched off, the diagrams are no longer visible in the tree and no diagram information is exported to the FMEA. |
