Configuration of Jama Connect for an export of EA elements

Steps for manually configuring a Jama Connect Project for export

If you want to manually configure a project without having a template, follow the steps described below:

1. Create a new project (can be based on any template or can be an empty one).
2. Navigate to the project administration ADMIN.
3. Navigate to the Item types section and select any of the types you want to use for export:
4. Add a new custom text field called ea_guid. This field is mandatory in order to support synchronization of EA elements in Jama Connect.
5. Repeat the same step for a custom field called my_uml_type. This field is mandatory in order to support mapping multiple EA Element Types to a single Jama Connect item type.
6. Repeat this steps for all custom item types that you want to use in the Mapping Configuration
7. Navigate to Relations and create rule sets for any relationships that you want to export from EA into Jama Connect:
8. If not existing, add a new rule set with all your needed relations:
   1. Upstream = parent
   2. Downstream = has parent
   3. Relationship Type = chose your relationship available in Jama Connect
   4. For Coverage = not relevant
